What personal data we collect and why

Forum

If you register at our forum, we collect the data shown in the registration form (user name and email) and also your IP address. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service for the purpose of obtaining a profile picture. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

If you upload images to the forum, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the forum can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Cookies

Our web-based Planetarium app uses cookies to cache camera position in the solar system and to store options and hotkey changes that you make. Our Forum uses cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of the forum, and their forum access preferences. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies, with the drawback that certain features may not function properly.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
